We made it back from our road trip, after 2200 Miles and 39 hours spent in the car. We both had a great time. Now, I have to plan our next adventure, coming up in 3 weeks!

Sorry for yesterday, no internet connection. Yesterday We spend the day traveling across New Mexico through I-40 and historic Route 66. We spend the night at the Wigwam motel, where Pixar took the idea for Cars' "Cozy Cone" motel. Today we made it to the Grand Canyon National Park and covered as much as Edgar was able to. We are both very tired after this exciting day. For all those who missed the headlines: my motorcycle broke one day before the trip started. I felt miserable all morning. Then in the afternoon I started working on it and fixed one of the two problems and got the parts needed for the other one. Unfortunately, my tools and skills weren't good enough. After a couple of hours of depression I took a run to think about Ana's suggestion of taking the Jeep instead, and decided that if I was going to take the Jeep I then could take Edgar with me. Ana agreed with the idea and my tragedy turned into a great father and son road trip. Stay tuned for our adventures in Route 66 and the Grand Canyon. For nine years, this person is being around me every single day, for every project, every dream, and every happy moment. She's my partner in crime and the person that will be with me for the rest of my life, no matter what. We met while I was working at Nokia, in Reynosa. She was then living in San Antonio. We immediately started dating and it wasn't long before we got married. We laugh a lot together, and enjoy going out on trips or simply to get a nice dinner. But of course and any live couple, we get in arguments, but at the end we can always find the way to each other's arms. I'm so lucky to have such a treasure, my lovely wife Ana. We spent the last weekend in the Hill Country area with our compadres Rene and Maira and their two adorable kids Rene Jr. and Ilse. On Friday we all met at Gruene to have lunch at Gristmill, one if our favorite stops when we visit the area. We also spend some time at KOA San Antonio, our home for the weekend. Saturday, we started the day with a brunch at our friends' hotel in the Riverwalk. Then, we headed to the San Antonio Zoo, a first for both families. On Sunday we took the long way back home to visit Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. We enjoyed the company of the Salazar family, and look forward to our next trip together. After a couple of very hard weeks at the office, and a toddler birthday party planning, I felt really tired and decided to take Friday off. Now, what can one do on a free day. I would like to ride my bike, but the weather is kind of cold....or isn't? I better check outside.......hey, it's not that bad! Perhaps a trip to that Burger joint in Dallas that serves Dublin Bottling Works' beverages could be a good idea. See you all later! We had Edgar's 3rd Birthday celebration yesterday. The theme of the party was "Pirates". Edgar was really excited about it. He became 3 years old last Wednesday. We had great friends joining us, and we all have a great time. All three of us wore Pirate costumes and we had a lot of fun. I can't believe Edgar is 3 already. We are having a blast watching him grow. Happy Birthday son, we love you! |
